AbbVie Announces $380 Million API Manufacturing Expansion in North Chicago

NORTH CHICAGO, Ill. — AbbVie will invest $380 million to build two new active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing facilities at its North Chicago campus. The projects will incorporate advanced manufacturing technologies and artificial intelligence to support next-generation neuroscience and obesity medications.

The investment represents one of the company’s largest to date in U.S. manufacturing infrastructure.
