Flex and Cerebras Scale AI Supercomputer Output in Milpitas

Flex and Cerebras Systems announced on July 9 an expanded manufacturing partnership to scale production of the Cerebras CS-3, one of the world’s most advanced AI accelerator systems, at Flex’s manufacturing facilities in Milpitas, California.

A 7x increase in CS-3 capacity

Multiple new assembly and integration lines are coming online through 2026 to support an anticipated 7x increase in CS-3 production capacity.

New test, validation and warehouse space

The expanded footprint also includes new test infrastructure, additional burn-in and validation areas, and increased warehouse capacity.

Building a wafer-scale system

Each CS-3 system, built on Cerebras’s wafer-scale engine architecture, requires precision mechanical assembly, high-power electrical integration, liquid cooling installation, optical networking validation, and full-rack system qualification.

AI systems built in America

Dhiraj Mallick, COO of Cerebras, said:

“The CS-3 is unlike any computer system ever built, and scaling its production requires an extraordinary manufacturing partner. Flex brings the technical depth, operational rigor, and manufacturing expertise needed to support that scale. People often think the entire AI manufacturing and packaging supply chain lives overseas, but everyday across the U.S., teams of American engineers and technicians are building state-of-the-art AI systems that power frontier AI workloads around the world.”
