Tronix3D Invests $4M to Expand 3D Printing in Pittsburgh

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro announced on October 30, 2026, that 3D printing company Tronix3D will invest nearly $4 million to expand its manufacturing operations in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County.

47 new jobs

The expansion will create 47 new jobs over the next three years and retain 18 existing full-time positions.

More than tripling production space

Tronix3D will grow from 3,700 to 12,000 square feet by moving from the third to the fourth floor of its facility at 6901 Lynn Way in Pittsburgh. The added capacity will help the company serve clients in the robotics, automotive, aerospace, medical and defense industries.

State support

The company received a funding proposal from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for a $200,000 Pennsylvania First grant, which will help it purchase new manufacturing equipment for the expanded space.

Mike Vindler, CEO of Tronix3D said:

“This investment will allow us to increase our production capacity, create 47 new jobs over the next three years, and continue supporting critical industries including robotics, defense, aerospace, and Physical AI right here in Pennsylvania.”

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said:

“Tronix3D’s decision to expand here will strengthen Pittsburgh’s role in developing cutting-edge technologies that support industries from robotics and aerospace to defense — all while creating real opportunities for Pennsylvanians throughout Allegheny County.”
