Eli Lilly Pledges $27 Billion for New U.S. Pharma Facilities

Eli Lilly announced in February 2025 a $27 billion investment to build four new U.S. manufacturing plants over five years, creating over 3,000 skilled jobs and 10,000 construction roles. The facilities will produce active pharmaceutical ingredients and injectables for obesity, diabetes, cancer, and other treatments. This expansion, prompted by a 25% tariff on imported drugs, aims to shorten supply chains and boost domestic production amid geopolitical uncertainties.
