Aermec North America Breaks Ground on First U.S. HVAC Manufacturing Plant in DeKalb, Illinois

Aermec Starts First U.S. HVAC Plant in DeKalb, Illinois

Italian HVAC manufacturer Aermec held a groundbreaking ceremony on October 8, 2026 for its new Aermec North America manufacturing facility in DeKalb, Illinois. It will be the company’s first U.S. production site.

$15 million and 30 jobs

The more than 186,000-square-foot facility is part of a $15 million project expected to create 30 full-time jobs. It will produce heating, ventilation and air conditioning products along with climate control and energy management systems, with a strong focus on heat pump technology.

Closer to North American customers

Aermec has served customers in the United States and Canada for more than 20 years. Local manufacturing will shorten lead times and strengthen service and aftermarket support. DeKalb was chosen after a competitive search across multiple states, and the project received support through an Illinois EDGE incentive agreement.

Luca Martini, Managing Director of Aermec North America said:

“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for Aermec in North America. Our decision to invest in Illinois was driven by the State’s outstanding support and collaboration.”
