Valmont Industries Invests $45 Million to Expand Utility Structures Plant in Jasper, Tennessee

Valmont Invests $45M to Expand Jasper, Tennessee Plant

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee and Valmont Industries officials announced in October 2026 that the company will further expand its Marion County facility in Jasper, Tennessee.

84 jobs and $45 million

Valmont will create 84 new jobs and invest $45 million to increase production of engineered steel transmission, distribution and substation structures for the utility industry. Demand is growing as utilities build infrastructure to support increased power needs.

The announcement extends a previous expansion announced in 2024, when Valmont pledged 80 new jobs and more than $6 million in investment. The company met that job goal nearly three years early.

Training future welders

In 2019, the Jasper plant became the first manufacturing facility in Tennessee to establish a welding pre-apprenticeship program at local high schools; more than 80 students have completed it.

Chris Colwell, President, Infrastructure, Valmont Industries said:

“This expansion will help us meet our customers’ growing needs for utility infrastructure to support a stronger grid while contributing to economic growth in the region.”
