Abbott Laboratories Invests $500 Million in U.S. Medical Device Expansion

Abbott Laboratories committed in April 2025 to a $500 million investment to expand medical device manufacturing in Illinois and Texas, creating 300 jobs. The upgrades, driven by tariffs on medical goods, will boost R&D and production for transfusion diagnostics, screening over 50% of the global blood supply.
