Toyota Invests $88M in WV Plant for Hybrids

In April 2025, Toyota Motor North America announced an additional $88 million investment in its Buffalo, West Virginia plant. The funds will launch production of next-generation hybrid transaxles, key components for Toyota and Lexus vehicles assembled in North America.

The Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia (TMMWV) facility in Putnam County will start the new assembly line by late 2026, boosting electrified vehicle output amid rising demand for eco-friendly tech.

This move enhances U.S. supply chains and job stability. Toyota’s total investments in TMMWV exceed billions, affirming its commitment to the American market. Local leaders, including Sen. Jim Justice, praised it for economic growth in the state. The initiative aligns with global reshoring trends in the auto industry.
