Cronus Chemicals LLC has unveiled plans for a $2 billion ammonia production facility in Tuscola, Illinois, marking a major investment in the state’s agricultural sector. Supported by Illinois’ EDGE incentive program, the state-of-the-art plant will create 130 full-time jobs and produce 950,000 short tons of nitrogen fertilizer annually. Chairman Melih Keyman emphasized the project’s impact, stating, “Our state-of-the-art facility in Tuscola represents a significant leap forward for the agriculture sector in Illinois and beyond. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Governor Pritzker and Team Illinois for their invaluable and continued support of our project.” The facility is poised to strengthen Illinois’ position as a hub for agricultural innovation and economic growth.
