Owens Corning to Build New Roofing Plant in Prattville, Alabama

Prattville, Alabama — Owens Corning has chosen Prattville, Alabama, for a new 250,000-square-foot asphalt shingle manufacturing plant. The facility, featuring high automation and energy-efficient processes, will create nearly 100 skilled jobs and produce about 6 million squares of laminate shingles annually.
Construction begins in early 2026, with operations starting in 2027. This expands Owens Corning’s U.S. footprint to better serve its Southeastern contractor network.
Nico Del Monaco, president of Owens Corning Roofing, stated: “The new Prattville facility will service our growing contractor network as we strengthen our U.S. manufacturing footprint … We are proud to join the Prattville community and expand Owens Corning’s presence in Alabama. This is an attractive location to service our customers, with a dedicated workforce that takes pride in producing a quality product. We look forward to deepening our engagement with the local community.”
The project, supported by state incentives, highlights Alabama’s appeal for advanced manufacturing. Owens Corning, a Fortune 500 company based in Toledo, Ohio, operates 150 facilities worldwide in roofing, insulation, and composites.
