Amkor Technology Breaks Ground on $7B Semiconductor Campus in Arizona

Amkor Technology has officially broken ground on an expanded semiconductor packaging and test campus in Peoria, Arizona, elevating its total investment in the project to $7 billion. The sprawling facility will encompass 2.7 million square feet of buildings dedicated to advanced assembly and test services for high-end chips, strengthening U.S. semiconductor capabilities.

CEO Giel Rutten described the endeavor as “a bold step in our long-term strategy,” emphasizing that Amkor is “building a facility to meet customers’ most advanced needs and to shape the future of semiconductor manufacturing in the U.S.” This development positions Arizona as a key hub in the global chip industry, supporting innovation and economic growth.
