LEGO Factory Tops Out in Virginia

Chesterfield County, VA – The LEGO Group celebrated a pivotal construction milestone on Wednesday with the traditional “topping out” ceremony for its massive $1.5 billion manufacturing facility in Chesterfield County, Virginia, as workers carefully placed the final steel beam atop the future 1.7 million-square-foot factory. The carbon-neutral site is designed to produce LEGO bricks and sets on a grand scale, with operations set to begin in phases and ultimately employ more than 1,700 people.
General Manager Jesús Ibáñez highlighted the event’s significance, saying the topping out “marks a significant moment in our journey to build and open our new U.S. factory, bringing creativity and LEGO® play closer to fans across the region. This achievement reflects the dedication of our team, partners, and local community, all working together harmoniously to bring this ambitious vision to life and inspire future generations.”
