Pilgrim’s Breaks Ground on $400M Prepared Foods Facility in Northwest Georgia

LAFAYETTE, Ga. – Pilgrim’s, a leading U.S. poultry producer and part of JBS Foods, officially broke ground today on a new $400 million prepared foods plant in Walker County, Georgia.

The state-of-the-art facility will produce fully cooked chicken products under the just bare® and Pilgrim’s® brands and is projected to create more than 630 permanent jobs in the region.

“Expanding the Pilgrim’s footprint in Georgia highlights our ongoing commitment to the region and our company’s long-term growth strategy,” said Fabio Sandri, CEO of Pilgrim’s. The company also announced a $1 million donation to local charities in Walker County to support education, hunger relief, and community development.

Construction is underway, with production expected to begin in late 2026.
