Toyota Pours $912 Million into U.S. Hybrid Vehicle Production Expansion

Georgetown, KY – Toyota Motor North America revealed a $912 million investment to increase hybrid vehicle production capacity at five existing U.S. manufacturing plants located in West Virginia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Missouri.
The multi-state expansion will add 252 new jobs and enhance assembly lines for popular hybrid models, reflecting growing consumer demand for electrified vehicles. Senior vice president Kevin Voelkel underscored Toyota’s long-standing commitment to domestic manufacturing, saying, “Toyota’s philosophy is to build where we sell, and by adding more American jobs and investing across our U.S. footprint, we continue to stay true to that philosophy.”
The upgrades are part of Toyota’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its North American supply chain and support the transition to electrified mobility while maintaining employment in the communities where it operates.
