Anthro Energy Launches U.S. Electrolyte Manufacturing Facility in Louisville, Kentucky

Anthro Energy, a battery technology company focused on next-generation energy storage solutions, announced plans to invest $42.1 million in a new electrolyte manufacturing facility in Louisville, Kentucky. The plant will be the first major U.S.-owned and operated advanced electrolyte manufacturing site and is expected to create approximately 110 new jobs. Production will focus on specialized electrolyte materials designed to improve performance, safety, and longevity in next-generation lithium-ion batteries.
The facility represents a key step in strengthening domestic battery supply chains and supporting the growing U.S. electric vehicle and energy storage markets. Chief Technology Officer Joe Papp said the company is “excited to begin scaling production of our advanced electrolytes here in Kentucky,” noting the importance of Department of Energy approval and local support. Anthro Energy selected Louisville for its strong manufacturing heritage, skilled workforce, and commitment to innovation, positioning the company for long-term growth.
