Generac Acquires WI Facility for Data Center Boom ⚡

Waukesha, Wis. – January 5, 2026 – Generac Holdings Inc. (NYSE: GNRC) has acquired a new manufacturing facility in Sussex, Wisconsin, to expand its production of commercial and industrial (C&I) backup power systems, including large-scale generators vital for data centers.

The Sussex site will complement Generac’s existing plants in Beaver Dam and Oshkosh, Wisconsin, enhancing capacity for high-demand applications in data centers and other industries. The facility is expected to create more than 100 new jobs and open in the fourth quarter of 2026.

“With global demand for data center capacity projected to more than triple by 2030 according to McKinsey, the rapid expansion of data centers is creating unprecedented demand for reliable and scalable power solutions,” said Aaron Jagdfeld, Generac’s President and CEO. He highlighted the opportunity to potentially double C&I sales in the next three to five years through these investments.

The move positions Generac to capitalize on the booming need for dependable backup power amid AI infrastructure growth.
