GE Appliances Launches First In-House Water Filter Manufacturing at Louisville, Kentucky Headquarters

GE Appliances, a Haier company, has launched its first-ever in-house water filter manufacturing operation at Appliance Park in Louisville, Kentucky. This state-of-the-art line will produce millions of high-demand refrigerator water filters annually, with design, testing, and production all under one roof to enhance quality control and combat counterfeit products that can affect water quality and appliance performance. The initiative is part of the company’s broader $3 billion commitment to U.S. manufacturing over five years, aimed at boosting supply chain resilience. The operation, which will eventually involve robotic systems and around 30 employees running 24/7, strengthens domestic production of critical components for GE refrigerators.
