Amazon to Invest Over $100 Million in Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Greenwood, Indiana

Amazon announced on September 24 that it will invest more than $100 million in a new 585,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility in Greenwood, Indiana. The plant will produce equipment that powers Amazon’s fulfillment and robotics network across North America.
300 skilled jobs
The facility will create 300 manufacturing and engineering jobs, including CNC operators, welders, powder coating technicians, assemblers, manufacturing engineers, quality assurance specialists and controls engineers. The roles will earn an average of nearly $100,000 per year.
Fabrication, welding and assembly under one roof
The plant will integrate advanced fabrication, robotic welding, automated powder coating and assembly, supported by AWS and AI-powered smart manufacturing systems and robotics. It is expected to launch by 2028.
Bringing manufacturing in-house
Amazon said the Greenwood site will bring advanced manufacturing capabilities in-house to strengthen its supply chain. The company has invested more than $40 billion in Indiana since 2008.
Holly Sullivan, Vice President of Economic Development at Amazon said:
“We’re thrilled to bring 300 advanced manufacturing jobs to Greenwood, Indiana, and to continue investing in growth and opportunities across the state. This facility represents a significant investment in the Indianapolis community that will create jobs with a median salary well above the regional average.”
Indiana Governor Mike Braun said:
“This $100 million investment will bring 300 high-paying, skilled jobs to the community that offer Hoosier families real careers in advanced manufacturing. Indiana has always been a state that builds things, and Amazon’s investment reinforces our position as the nation’s leader in manufacturing.”
