AMPS Solar Plans Solar Module Assembly Plant in Hanford, California, With 600+ Jobs

AMPS Solar is bringing a new solar module manufacturing facility to Hanford, California, that could create more than 600 jobs in the Central Valley over the next few years, local station KMPH FOX26 reported on October 29, 2026.
Former Del Monte site
The California-based company acquired the former Del Monte tomato processing and distribution facility in Hanford. According to a Kings County site plan review filing, the project at 10652 Jackson Ave. will establish a solar module assembly facility of up to 8 gigawatts, with production lines installed inside the existing industrial buildings and no building expansion.
Planned operations include automated assembly lines, packaging and warehousing.
Hiring under way
The facility will operate in phases, with positions in assembly, manufacturing, packaging and shipping. According to Cole Earley, the company’s marketing and business development director, hiring has already begun and will ramp up once the production line becomes operational. The company plans to offer both skilled positions and entry-level jobs that do not require previous experience, and will begin filling positions in November.
