Brose Sitech Builds $29.5M Scout Seat Plant in Blythewood

Brose Sitech, a joint venture between Brose and Volkswagen, announced on October 28 that it will build complete seating systems for the Scout Traveler SUV and Scout Terra pickup at a new plant in Blythewood, South Carolina.

$29.5 million and nearly 330 jobs

The $29.5 million, 140,000-square-foot site inside the Scout Motors Supplier Park is expected to create nearly 330 jobs, giving Brose Sitech its first U.S. manufacturing workforce.

Just-in-time delivery

Located next to Scout’s production center, the plant will support just-in-time and in-sequence deliveries of seats to the assembly line.

Building a team from day one

Chad Nelson, plant manager at Brose Sitech said:

“We are excited to establish Brose Sitech in Blythewood and become part of the local community. Building a new production facility from the ground up gives us the opportunity to create a strong team and culture from day one.”
