Chobani to Invest $1.2 Billion in Dairy Manufacturing Campus in Allentown, Pennsylvania

Chobani announced on September 1 that it will invest approximately $1.2 billion over the next five years in a 1.5-million-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse campus in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It is the largest private investment in the history of Pennsylvania’s agriculture industry.
More than 900 jobs
The project will create more than 900 full-time jobs over the next five years in the Lehigh Valley.
Former Keurig Dr Pepper facility
As part of an expanded partnership with Keurig Dr Pepper, Chobani will acquire KDP’s facility at 7356 Industrial Boulevard in Upper Macungie Township, including its equipment and infrastructure. Chobani plans up to 10 production lines making high-protein milk, shakes and other food products beyond yogurt.
New demand for Pennsylvania milk
At full scale, the campus is expected to process more than 3 billion pounds of Pennsylvania milk a year, equivalent to about 30% of the milk currently produced in the state.
Hamdi Ulukaya, Founder and CEO of Chobani said:
“Pennsylvania is home to one of the highest number of family-owned farms in the country. When we walked into this factory, we knew it was a great fit for what we want to build for the future.”
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said:
“This $1.2 billion investment from Chobani is the largest private sector investment in the history of Pennsylvania’s agriculture industry and will strengthen our dairy industry, support our farmers, and reinforce our position as a national leader in agriculture and food manufacturing.”
