Clasen Quality Chocolate to Build $230 Million Facility in Frederick County, Virginia

Clasen Quality Chocolate, a leading U.S. manufacturer of chocolate and confectionery coatings, has announced a $230 million investment to construct a new production facility at Valley Innovation Park in Frederick County, Virginia. The project, supported by a $3 million grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund and $7.2 million from the Virginia Business Ready Sites Program, will create 250 new jobs.
The facility will help Clasen meet growing demand for its high-quality chocolate products, serving major grocery chains and food companies. “We are excited to build our newest production facility in Virginia, enabling us to better serve our customers,” said Clasen Quality Chocolate President Jay Jensen. “We are committed to being a supportive member of the Frederick County community.”
Governor Glenn Youngkin highlighted Virginia’s business-friendly environment, stating, “This investment strengthens our economy and positions Virginia to support Clasen’s global market reach.” The Virginia Economic Development Partnership and Frederick County Economic Development Authority were instrumental in securing the project. Chairman Josh Ludwig of the Frederick County Board of Supervisors noted, “This significant investment will have a lasting positive impact on our local economy.”
