Fagor Opens Aluminum Recycling Plant in Blossburg, PA

Fagor Ederlan Group officially inaugurated Fagor Recycling on October 26, 2026 in Blossburg, Pennsylvania. The new company was formed with strategic partner Lorne Kalisky and is 51% owned by the Basque cooperative group.

Recycled aluminum ingots

Fagor Recycling will produce recycled aluminum ingots and alloys made exclusively from recycled material, mainly for the U.S. automotive, construction and consumer goods markets. The plant starts with an estimated annual capacity of 12,000 tons, with a goal of reaching 36,000 tons in the coming years.

From 20 to 60 jobs

The initial workforce will be about 20 people, expected to grow to 60 direct jobs as expansion phases progress. The company projects first-year revenue near $40 million, aiming to exceed $100 million annually once the growth plan is complete.

The plant complements Fagor Regen Aluminum, which marked the group’s entry into the secondary aluminum market; the proximity of the two facilities will optimize logistics and scrap sourcing.

Jon Zuazo, CEO of Fagor Ederlan said:

“Today, with the launch of Fagor Recycling, we take a new step forward in our commitment to recycled aluminum—a key material for industrial decarbonization that requires up to 95% less energy than primary aluminum production.”
