GM to Prepare Lansing Delta Township Assembly for Hybrid Vehicle Production in Michigan

GM Readies Lansing Delta Township Plant for Hybrid Output

General Motors announced on October 27, 2026 that it plans to invest in Lansing Delta Township Assembly in Michigan to prepare the plant for future hybrid-electric vehicle production. Nameplates and timing will be shared closer to launch.

More than $2 billion for the Lansing region

The plan is part of a broader commitment in which GM’s investments in the Lansing region will exceed $2 billion over the next several years. That total includes a previously announced $1.25 billion to prepare Lansing Grand River Assembly for future vehicle production.

To support the hybrid work, GM and the U.S. Department of Energy are restructuring a previously awarded Domestic Manufacturing Conversion Grant, with the funds going to Lansing Delta Township.

A record year for the plant

Lansing Delta Township builds the Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia. It marks its 20th anniversary this year after building more than 291,000 vehicles in 2025, the highest annual production in its history.

Mike Trevorrow, Senior Vice President, Global Manufacturing at GM said:

“Lansing’s strength starts with its people. Their skill and experience are why we continue to invest here.”
