Gradian Opens $60M Thermal Systems Plant in Dayton, MN

Gradian Thermal Solutions, a U.S. designer and manufacturer of thermal management systems for mission-critical environments, celebrated the grand opening of its new 500,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Dayton, Minnesota, on October 28, 2026. The investment totals approximately $60 million.

Production started in June

Production at the Dayton facility began in June, and the company continues to ramp up capacity. The site includes assembly lines, fabrication equipment and an end-of-line testing lab for its chiller products.

Cooling for data centers and industry

The plant expands Gradian’s capacity for liquid cooling, chillers, air handling, commissioning products and prefabricated solutions for data center, industrial and commercial customers. Together with its 180,000-square-foot Maple Grove, Minnesota, facility and a 100,000-square-foot plant in Guadalajara, Mexico, Gradian’s manufacturing footprint reaches about 780,000 square feet.

Workforce to grow to about 1,000

Gradian expects to grow its workforce from approximately 150 employees to around 1,000 companywide and is hiring for engineering, project management, accounting, production, fabrication and assembly roles.

Jason Ulett, Chief Operating Officer of Gradian said:

“The Dayton expansion is a deliberate investment in our ability to meet the growing demands of mission-critical thermal management applications for our ever-growing customer base.”
