Hyundai Translead Raises Illinois Trailer Plant Hiring Plans to 3,750 Jobs

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker announced on October 22 that Hyundai Translead’s new trailer manufacturing operations in Will County will bring 3,750 new full-time jobs, up from the 2,500 jobs announced in March.

A third shift

The state said the company is adding a third shift to meet growing demand.

Reviving former industrial sites

The Will County sites will bring new manufacturing operations to the former sites of Caterpillar’s heavy equipment operations and Lion Electric’s electric bus operations in the Joliet area.

Revitalizing Joliet

Joliet Mayor Terry D’Arcy said:

“Once upon a time, this was the economic engine for the city of Joliet. And we now see the revitalization, we’re so proud of that and grateful to have that here. To support families, build careers, and contribute to our regional economy. Its impact will extend beyond these walls.”
