LS Cable & System USA Invests $50M to Expand Tarboro, NC

LS Cable & System USA, Inc. (LSCUS) announced on February 13 that it plans to invest $50 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Tarboro, North Carolina. The investment will increase total employment at the facility from 250 to 335 jobs.

Two new CCV lines

The expansion will add two Continuous Catenary Vulcanization (CCV) production lines, significantly increasing capacity for medium-voltage power distribution cable. The lines will serve electric utilities, renewable energy projects, data centers and industrial customers across North America.

Part of LS Cable’s U.S. growth

LSCUS is the U.S. subsidiary of Gaon Cable Co., itself a subsidiary of South Korea’s LS Cable & System. The Tarboro project is separate from LS Cable & System’s earlier $689 million manufacturing hub investment in Virginia.

Taewon Son, President and CEO, LS Cable & System USA said:

“This investment allows LS Cable & System USA to significantly scale our medium-voltage manufacturing capabilities while maintaining the high standards our customers expect.”

Bon-Kyu Koo, President and CEO, LS Cable & System said:

“This investment reflects LS Cable & System’s long-term vision to expand our global manufacturing footprint while localizing production in key strategic markets.”
