Project Type: Expanding existing US production
Med-Mizer to Invest $9 Million in Batesville, Indiana Expansion, Creating Up to 73 Jobs

Med-Mizer, an Indiana-founded medical device company and defense contractor, will expand its operations in Batesville, Indiana, creating up to 73 new jobs. Governor Mike Braun announced the project on October 13, 2026.
A second shift for hospital beds
Med-Mizer will invest $9 million to increase production at its existing 40,000-square-foot facility at 80 Commerce Dr., buying new machinery and equipment and retrofitting the space for growth and a second shift. The expansion will boost production of hospital beds and safe patient handling solutions.
Serving veterans nationwide
The expansion supports a recently awarded five-year, sole-source U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs contract, through partner DiSorb Systems, to provide at-home hospital beds, support surfaces and accessories to veterans nationwide. The expansion is expected to more than double Med-Mizer’s workforce, with average wages at 134% of the Ripley County average.
Brian Roth, CEO of Med-Mizer said:
“This investment marks a transformational chapter in our company’s history, significantly expanding our American manufacturing capabilities, creating meaningful career opportunities for Hoosiers, and strengthening our ability to serve Veterans and healthcare providers across the country.”
