Rand Machine Plans $5.7M Expansion Near Jamestown, New York

Defense and aerospace supplier Rand Machine Products plans to expand into the former Serta Simmons Bedding plant at 2375 Parkway Drive in Ellicott, near Jamestown, New York. The roughly $5.7 million project would retain 115 jobs and add 31 full-time positions over three years.

Two sites to meet demand

Rand plans electrical and HVAC upgrades at the Parkway Drive building and will install new machinery and equipment. The company will keep operating its existing facility on Allen Street Extension in Falconer, which is running at full capacity. Rand expects growing customer demand, tied largely to defense programs, to require additional capacity within the next 12 to 18 months.

Incentives under review

Rand is seeking a 20-year payment-in-lieu-of-taxes (PILOT) agreement from the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency. The agency’s board has passed a due-diligence resolution, and a second vote is required to finalize any incentives.
