Project Type: Expanding existing US production
Siemens Healthineers Invests $43.6 Million to Expand PET Detector Production in Rockford, Tennessee

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee and Siemens Healthineers Molecular Imaging officials announced in September 2026 that the company is expanding its manufacturing operation in Blount County, Tennessee.
$43.6 million and 90+ jobs
Siemens Healthineers has invested $43.6 million and will create more than 90 new jobs over the next five years at its Dunavant Drive facility in Rockford. The site houses the company’s PET Detector Center for research and development and material production.
Meeting demand for PET/CT imaging
The project will boost production capacity for PET detector technology to meet growing customer demand and support the launch of new PET/CT product lines. The detectors capture gamma rays emitted after a patient is injected with a radiopharmaceutical, helping clinicians visualize cardiac disease, Alzheimer’s disease and many forms of cancer.
James Williams, PhD, Head of Molecular Imaging, Siemens Healthineers said:
“This project will increase our production capacity and customer access to our PET/CT scanners to meet the rapidly growing clinical demand for PET/CT imaging in the U.S. and internationally.”
