Siemens Invests $165 Million to Expand Manufacturing Across the Carolinas for Data Centers

Siemens announced on March 17 that it has invested more than $165 million across North and South Carolina to support the rapidly growing AI and data center markets. The new and expanded sites will add 350 jobs and increase production of low- and medium-voltage electrical products.
North Carolina
In Raleigh, a new 131,000-square-foot facility will add 100 jobs by the end of the year and assemble Siemens’ integrated power delivery solutions. In Wendell, a new 101,000-square-foot site will localize production of medium-voltage protection and automation devices, adding 50 roles. Siemens’ Wendell-based Electrification and Automation U.S. headquarters will also expand switchgear production, creating more than 200 additional jobs by 2028.
South Carolina
Siemens is opening a new 120,000-square-foot facility in Spartanburg for lighting panel production and distribution. Its Roebuck facility will add 22,000 square feet to increase busway production, with a new paint line, epoxy line and expanded plating line. Together, the Spartanburg County sites will add 150 manufacturing roles.
Earlier investments
The investments build on nearly $700 million Siemens has committed over the past several years to expand U.S. manufacturing, including electrical products facilities in Pomona, California, and Fort Worth, Texas.
Ruth Gratzke, President of Siemens Smart Infrastructure U.S. said:
“Customer demand is at an all-time high as advanced infrastructure upgrades are needed to meet the power requirements from increasing AI workloads.”
