Southwark Metal Manufacturing Builds $29 Million Plant in Hernando, Mississippi

Southwark Metal Manufacturing Company is investing more than $29 million in a new 270,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse facility on Highway 51 in Hernando, Mississippi, the city announced on October 29, 2026. The project was first announced by the Mississippi Development Authority in March 2026.
25 new jobs
The expansion is expected to create 25 jobs. Southwark is already hiring for production assembly and shipping and receiving positions; new employees will receive paid training at the company’s existing Southaven location before moving to the Hernando plant when it opens in 2027.
Location near I-269
The plant will sit near Interstate 269, in front of the Associated Wholesale Grocers distribution center in DeSoto County.
The City of Hernando said:
“The City of Hernando welcomes this investment in our community and looks forward to Southwark’s continued growth and success.”
