North Carolina Governor Josh Stein announced on June 17 that Supreme Nonwoven Inc., a manufacturer of advanced nonwoven materials, will invest $25.8 million to establish its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Lexington, Davidson County.

50 jobs

The project will create 50 new jobs with an average annual salary of $55,800. A $100,000 performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund will help the company locate in the state.

Indian textile group

Supreme Nonwoven is a subsidiary of India’s Supreme Group, founded in 1986, which serves apparel, automotive, filtration and other industrial customers. The more than 200,000-square-foot Lexington facility will also serve as a hub for technical collaboration with North American customers.

Amit Kavrie, Managing Director, Supreme Group said:

“Our decision to establish this facility in North Carolina reflects a long-term commitment to serving the U.S. market with locally manufactured nonwoven materials.”
