Project Type: New Plant
TS Conductor Opens $134 Million Advanced Conductor Plant in Hardeeville, South Carolina

TS Conductor announced on May 13 the grand opening and start of operations at its new manufacturing plant in Hardeeville, Jasper County, South Carolina, where it will produce its Aluminum Encapsulated Carbon Core (AECC) advanced conductors for the power grid.
$134 million across three phases
TS is investing $42 million in the first phase, with a total of $134 million planned across all three phases. Phase one occupies more than 300,000 square feet, and future phases could add another 1 million square feet. At full capacity, the plant is expected to create about 462 direct manufacturing jobs; 288 jobs have already been created.
Up to 20x capacity
The Hardeeville site is the company’s second U.S. plant, after its headquarters and first factory in Huntington Beach, California. The initial phase will increase AECC production capacity by up to 10x compared with the first plant, and up to 20x at full buildout. The industrial park sits less than 10 miles from the Port of Savannah’s Garden City Terminal.
Federal support
For phase one, TS is receiving $28 million in support from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Manufacturing Deployment Office.
Jason Huang, PhD, CEO of TS Conductor said:
“We believe AECC is central to the future of our nation’s power architecture, and we are immensely proud to produce this world-leading technology right here in the United States.”
South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster said:
“The opening of this facility in Hardeeville reflects the strength of our workforce and our commitment to supporting American energy security. This investment will create new opportunities for the people of Jasper County and further strengthen our state’s economy.”
