Velo3D Opens Forge 1, One of North America’s Largest Metal Additive Manufacturing Facilities, in Livermore, California

Velo3D officially opened its Livermore Production Campus, Forge 1, on July 15 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local officials, customers, and employees, and released the formal opening announcement on July 21.
One of North America’s largest metal AM facilities
The nearly 289,000-square-foot campus is one of North America’s largest metal additive manufacturing facilities, with approximately 270,000 square feet of production space.
Room for more than 100 systems
Forge 1 is designed to accommodate more than 40 large-format metal additive systems at launch, with infrastructure capable of supporting more than 100 systems over time. Combined with its existing Fremont headquarters, Velo3D expects to operate up to 125 systems across both California campuses.
From qualification to scaled production
The facility serves aerospace, defense, energy, and other strategic industries, and expands the company’s capacity to take customer programs from qualification into scaled production.
A trusted American partner
Arun Jeldi, Chief Executive Officer of Velo3D, said:
“Forge 1 is much more than a new production facility. It represents our commitment to helping customers and our nation build a stronger, more resilient manufacturing foundation. Our customers need more than innovative technology. They need a trusted American partner capable of taking critical programs from qualification to production while strengthening supply chains and supporting national security. Forge 1 is how we deliver on that commitment.”
