Voortman Steel Machinery Opens $51 Million Facility in Monee, Illinois

Voortman Opens $51M Steel Machinery Plant in Monee, Illinois

Governor JB Pritzker joined Voortman Steel Machinery on September 24 to celebrate the grand opening of the company’s $51 million expansion in Monee, Will County, Illinois. The governor broke ground on the project in October 2024.

100,000-square-foot building

The project includes a new 100,000-square-foot building. Voortman, a Netherlands-based maker of CNC steel processing machinery and software, has its U.S. headquarters in Illinois.

51 new jobs

The $51.4 million investment will create 51 new jobs and retain 40 existing positions while moving more of the company’s supply chain to Illinois. The project is supported by the state’s EDGE tax credit program.

Voortman USA President Ben Morrall said:

“This facility represents more than new walls and equipment — it represents new opportunities for people in this region, including technical jobs, hands-on training, and long-term career paths in a modern, clean manufacturing environment.”

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker said:

“Voortman’s new facility is strengthening the supply chain and reinforcing Illinois’ position as a growing hub for advanced manufacturing.”
