Westrafo to Build $15 Million Transformer Plant in Ohio

Italian power transformer manufacturer Westrafo is committing $15 million to construct a new 233,000-square-foot production facility in Trotwood, Ohio, focused on designing and assembling medium and large power transformers. This marks the company’s inaugural major manufacturing investment in the United States, aimed at meeting rising domestic demand for reliable energy infrastructure components. The plant will leverage Westrafo’s European engineering expertise while creating local employment opportunities. CEO Alberto Cracco stated, “As CEO, I am convinced that this decision represents a unique opportunity to strengthen our leadership position, enhance our technical know-how, and offer U.S. customers the superior quality, reliability, and dedicated service excellence that have long defined us.”
