Wistron Opens $700 Million Fort Worth Plant to Build NVIDIA AI Superchips

Wistron Opens $700M NVIDIA AI Superchip Plant in Fort Worth

Wistron celebrated on July 21 the grand opening of its D1 AI smart facility in Fort Worth, Texas, its first U.S. manufacturing plant and the site where the first NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip was built and mass-produced in the United States.

$700 million, 324,000 square feet

The $700 million greenfield facility spans approximately 324,000 square feet. It runs two manufacturing cells, one producing the GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip and one that will produce the NVIDIA Vera Rubin Superchip, and is scaling up to produce tens of thousands of boards per month.

1,000 jobs by year-end

According to NVIDIA, the plant has created more than 500 new jobs, with plans to expand to 1,000 by the end of the year.

Designed in a digital twin

Wistron designed and simulated the entire facility in a digital twin built on NVIDIA’s platform before construction began, validating assembly line layouts and training workers virtually.

NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang said:

“The largest infrastructure buildout in history is underway. Demand for AI factories—the engine of this next industrial revolution—is incredible, and they must be produced everywhere. Together, NVIDIA and Wistron are restoring US advanced manufacturing capacity in Texas, creating skilled jobs and strengthening America’s AI supply chain.”

Wistron Chairman Simon Lin said:

“In the AI era, the pressure of speed is also a form of responsibility. We don’t just need to build fast; we need to build right.”
