Project Type: Expanding existing US production
Woodbine Manufacturing Breaks Ground on $58 Million Tommy Gate Factory in Woodbine, Iowa

Woodbine Manufacturing Co., the family-owned maker of Tommy Gate hydraulic liftgates, has broken ground on a new 345,200-square-foot build-to-suit manufacturing facility in its hometown of Woodbine, Iowa. The project represents a $58 million capital investment and is expected to create 20 new jobs.
A larger home for Tommy Gate production
ARCO National Construction’s Omaha division is building the facility, which will include 40,250 square feet of office space, a 2,200-square-foot mezzanine and expanded production and support areas for Tommy Gate manufacturing. The company’s existing Woodbine factory already exceeds 200,000 square feet and houses five assembly lines plus engineering and testing departments.
The expansion is expected to help the company increase production capacity, expand existing product lines and add new products. Woodbine Manufacturing designs and builds hydraulic liftgates and cargo-handling equipment for commercial vehicles under the Tommy Gate and Anteo brands.
State support
In September 2026, the Iowa Economic Development Authority board awarded the project $2.18 million in tax credits through the Business Incentives for Growth (BIG) program. All 20 new positions are tied to a qualifying wage of $27.75 per hour.
A company rooted in Woodbine since 1965
Woodbine Manufacturing was founded in Woodbine in 1965 and remains family-owned. Its liftgates are sold through more than 1,000 distributors on five continents.
